Dot on Nokia (please scroll through the carousal to find Dot)
"Dot" is a Guinness World Record breaking stop-motion animation film, created by Aardman, featuring a tiny 9mm tall heroine who wakes up to discover her tiny magical world is unravelling around her. The film was part of a larger online campaign to launch Nokia's new N8 smartphone and push the limits of craft one could achieve with new technologies. Rapid prototyping printers were used to create 150 tiny characters in different replacement poses and the special lens attached to the Nokia N8, used to capture each miniscule frame, was inspired by a real-life invention, the CellScope – a microscope device attached to a Nokia handset used to help analyse blood samples and diagnose fatal diseases in remote areas in third world countries.
